Home Economics for the 21st Century.

You've invested in your child's education. They're prepared for college academically—but what about everything else?

Life Launch bridges the gap between academic achievement and real-world readiness. We teach the practical skills busy parents don't have time to cover and schools don't include in the curriculum: managing money responsibly, cooking nutritious meals, and handling basic home and car maintenance.

Because independence requires more than good grades.

In-Person Workshops

We come to you.

Life Launch offers small-group workshops in your home, school, or community space. Students can receive hands-on instruction in financial health, meal preparation, and home and car maintenance—all customized to their age and skill level. You provide the location, we bring the expertise and materials.

Perfect for friend groups, homeschool co-ops, or families who want personalized instruction.

  • A practical workshop for students in grades 6–8 that introduces the core skills of independence. Students explore how money works, practice budgeting and grocery planning, prepare simple meals, and learn basic home-care skills. The focus is on building early confidence — helping students understand how to care for their money, their space, and themselves.

  • A practical workshop designed to build confidence and everyday competence before graduation. Students learn how bank accounts and credit work, how to create a functional budget, how to grocery shop within a plan, prepare simple meals, and handle basic home responsibilities. The focus is on developing the skills they’ll actually use — managing money, feeding themselves well, and maintaining their own space with confidence.

  • A focused workshop for graduating seniors preparing to live independently. Students learn how to manage a real budget, understand credit and banking, grocery shop and cook efficiently, and set up simple systems that make college life manageable. Participants leave with practical tools, clear plans, and the confidence to start college prepared, not overwhelmed.

  • A practical workshop for college students and recent graduates preparing to live on their own. From managing rent and utilities to building a realistic budget, grocery shopping with intention, understanding credit, and setting up the systems that make adulthood run smoothly, this intensive covers the skills school rarely teaches — but real life requires. Participants leave with clear tools, concrete plans, and the confidence to step into independent living prepared.

Comprehensive Workshops by Age

Intensives by Subject

  • Learn essential car care skills that Driver's Ed doesn't teach. Students will master routine maintenance checks (oil, tires, fluids), respond to common emergencies (flat tires, dead batteries, overheating), and understand when to handle issues themselves versus calling a professional. Leave confident in your ability to keep your car running safely and avoid costly mistakes.

  • Master the kitchen basics that will serve you for life. Students learn to plan weekly menus, shop efficiently on a budget, and prepare 5+ nutritious meals from scratch. We cover cooking techniques, kitchen safety, reading nutrition labels, meal prep strategies, and using leftovers creatively. Includes a field trip to the grocery store and hands-on cooking practice.

  • Build the money management skills schools don't teach. Students learn to create realistic budgets, understand credit cards and credit scores, and make smart financial decisions. Topics include banking basics, tracking spending, building emergency funds, and avoiding common financial pitfalls. Interactive activities include analyzing paystubs, running a monthly budgeting simulation, and comparing credit cards and savings accounts.

  • Learn the practical skills every independent adult needs. Students master laundry basics, general home repairs, and understanding household systems (water, electricity, HVAC). Students leave prepared to handle the everyday tasks of living on their own.
