Seven Girls, Two Days, Endless Capability

Seven rising 8th graders from Westridge School for Girls walked into a two-day Mini-Camp not knowing how to check a tire or define compound interest. They left knowing both — plus how to cook a real meal and fix what's broken around the house.

Each day included a field trip. Day 1: the grocery store, where they shopped for their own lunch ingredients. Day 2: the gas station, where they learned about octane levels, filling tires with air, and basic etiquette (don't park in front of a pump you're not using!).

They saved big money prepping meals themselves. Day 1 they made pasta with two sauces from scratch, and on Day 2, açaí bowls, eggs, roast chicken & veggies.

We also had a real conversation about money — credit scores, compound interest, and how to actually stick to a budget.

All of this, plus some real tool time in the house and the car let the girls practice a broad range of new skills.
